Part-time/Hourly (20-40 hours per week) / Personal Residency (Remote) in DFW Metropolitan Area

Description

You will work closely with the Account Manager and account team as an extension of our client's trade compliance organization to ensure the legal compliance of all international transactions per our client's established policies and procedures.


Responsibilities/Unique Qualifications
  • Interface with customs brokers to answer questions as required to clear inbound shipments.
  • Provide timely information to relative parties necessary to obtain US import clearance.
  • Work with Vigilant and client teams to provide information such as accurate HTS code, country of origin, properly calculated valuations, and other information required by brokers or US Customs and Border Protection.
  • Provide support for client's Miscellaneous Shipment Process.
  • Work closely with clients Logistics and Transportation team.
  • Work with client in support of US Customs and Border Protection's Importer Self-Assessment (ISA) Program; track Key Performance Indicators and other key criteria as defined in the ISA Program.
  • Complete paperwork as required to clear inbound shipments.
  • Responsible for monitoring client and Vigilant emails, reviewing and responding to information requests.
  • Responsible for the timely escalation of any client issues to Account Manager or VP – Client Success, as needed, to obtain guidance and seek assistance to complete key tasks.
  • Responsible for properly "closing out" assigned shift and clearly communicating the handoff of incomplete items or open issues requiring timely resolution.
  • Responsible for executing the daily processes and policies as defined by Vigilant and the Client.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting any account access problems.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting any account technical issue(s) (i.e. enterprise software, or client proprietary software).
  • Must attend (on time) and prepare (when necessary) for client and Vigilant meetings.
  • Must be available to accept calls and other communications while working assigned shift.
  • Must organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
  • Must adapt to changing priorities while meeting deadlines and managing workload.
  • Must work effectively with others in a cooperative and respectful manner to accomplish position requirements and participate in team efforts.
  • Must adhere to Vigilant Employee Handbook and Vigilant Company policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • Must have 1-3 years global trade compliance experience, with a focus in Import transactions and clearing imported shipments.
  • Some college preferred in Business or related field.
  • Professional Experience: 1 to 3 years experience in a corporate business environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome.
  • Knowledge of SAP GTS is preferred
  • Must communicate professionally, clearly, concisely and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams of staff from Vigilant, partners and clients.
  • Strong customer relationship skills.
