This Supply Chain team member will be responsible for supporting the global trade compliance of all YETI products in all markets. This role will work closely with YETI's Vendors as well as YETI's Logistics, New Product Development, and Master Data teams. The role will ensure YETI's compliance with Customs' rules and regulations while helping to maintain a robust compliance program. With an understanding of Customs, you will make sure that YETI is constantly at the forefront of changes to tariff classifications and rulings.


Responsibilities/Unique Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support development and execution of Trade Compliance strategy for North America, Canada, Australia and any new markets, including risk assessment and gap closure plan, writing Broker SOP, and implementing Broker and business scorecards; develop and manage KPI metrics with Customs Brokers.
  • Operationally manage all Trade Compliance elements: HTS/Schedule B classification, FTA qualification, responding to CF28 requests and audits.
  • Manage execution of Duty Drawback program in all markets.
  • Ensure YETI complies with US CBP Reasonable Care guidelines.
  • Work with international YETI offices to ensure local trade compliance guidelines are met.
  • Work with Master Data team to define, document, and implement master data management governance for Trade Compliance and Transportation Compliance elements in SAP.
  • Be a resource for New Product Development on trade compliance issues and HTS classification.
  • Work with IT to design and execute compliant commercial invoice, packlist, and bill of lading in SAP to limit manual document creation and ensure compliance to CBP and DOT regulations, respectively.
  • Create and deliver Incoterms, FTA, and CO training to Commercial, Legal, and Global Procurement teams.
  • Partner with Procurement and Logistics team to improve Supplier On-Boarding process, understand duty and freight impact to build a Total Landed Cost-based sourcing strategy, and educate to impact and correct use of Incoterms.
  • Make recommendations around bonded facilities and FTZs.
  • Develop Broker Manual.
  • Support supply chain security initiatives such as Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism.
  • Maintain awareness of current and proposed Customs regulations related-business activities, communicating out to partners as appropriate.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Customs Broker License required
  • 4-6 years of experience in Trade Compliance and HTS Classification
  • Strong knowledge of global trade rules and regulations
  • Experience with durable goods at a retail company strongly preferred
  • Able to quickly distill large amounts of information into concise summaries
  • Proven track record in developing new processes and bringing about change and improvement without major disruption to the business
  • Process driven with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to plan, be strategic and execute operationally on a regular basis
  • Excellent ability to communicate with internal teams, service providers, and government agencies
  • Strong attention to detail and project management capabilities
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system preferred
  • Goal oriented with high standards for excellence
